about

Earlier this year, my friend, violist & composer Noel Kennon, found an old blog post about a "2000 Tour CDr" of Vic Rawlings & I and asked if there were still copies lying around. I found a CDr copy of the master that simply said "Vic + Greg 2/9/00" in Sharpie. Vic surmised that this was the demo CDr we sent around to get gigs for a tour we did later that year (this was how you had to do it back then) - it was never released in any capacity. The tour was about 2 weeks long starting in Somerville MA, going as far south as Charleston SC, as far west as Chicago IL and I'm not sure how north we got. Along the way, we collaborated with Sean Meehan, Kenta Nagai & Lucio Capece in NYC, with Kevin Drumm in Chicago and with a large group including electronics stalwart Michael Johnsen & other members of the Orgone Cinema collective in Pittsburgh that went under the name Hubris Club that night. Good times and two decades later, we're still at it.

Recorded to minidisc by me in the living room of Vic's apartment at the time in Jamaica Plain MA.

The photo was taken by Bhob Rainey at Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral in November 2012 while the BSC was rehearsing for our performance of John Cage's Song Books.

Proceeds from this release will go to The I-Collective. "Our vision is to increase visibility; own our foods and culture; promote Indigenous ingredients and histories in our modern world."
